Firewall/Routing Mode
Typically most customers come to Lightspeed after have the majority of their network infrastructure in place; for this reason the most common design is Transparent Bride Mode. Firewall/Routing mode provides the same functionality as a Transparent Bridge mode only with the bonus of the ability to use TTC as your Firewall. The TTC firewall is a full firewall including Network Address Translation. Couple the firewall object with a 'route' object and Lightspeed can now be setup as the main gateway with the ability to handle multiple subnets.
Connecting the Passive Monitoring TTC Server to your network
In this mode three NICS are required, External, Internal, and Management. Both the Internal and Management NICs would be connected to the internal network while the External NIC would be connected to the external router up-linking to the ISP. The TCP/IP stack would be disabled for the Internal and External NICs just like any other TTC setup, and IP's will be assigned from within the TTC software.
